You'll soon be a fan of the mountains in the summer
Are you hesitating about coming to the mountains in summer? If you still have some questions on your mind before taking the leap, we promise we’ll tell you everything you need to know!
Swimming and sunbathing on the cards
You might be surprised to know that the temperatures in the mountains are actually pretty good in the summer, and you can still get that bathing suit out, even at high altitudes. The 2 terrace areas around the pools at the Centre Sportif and the Espace Aqualudique are great places to enjoy the sun and admire the incredible view of the peaks at the same time. The first one is ideal for cooling off after basking in the sun on the terrace overlooking La Masse, or to swim a few lengths. There are also aquatic sports sessions organised here. The second has a paddling pool, massage jets and a river with currents that will delight children and adults alike.
The many mountain lakes that you’ll come across on your hiking outings are also the perfect places to cool off and dip your feet in the water.
A boundless playground
The advantage of going to the mountains in the summer is that there are so many activities to try. We bet that you won’t have time to do everything in just one week.
The little ones will also have their fair share of activities to choose from, including donkey and pony rides, quad-biking for beginners, treasure hunts and an adventure course.
If you’re more interested in exploring heritage sites, you can choose to go on a guided tour of the village, churches or the Alpine pastures.
The mountains just for you
This is the advantage of wide-open spaces, where you'll be far from the crowds and long queues... Here, you don’t need to buy a ticket to enjoy your surroundings. Social distancing is a given.
When you set off along the hiking trails, you’ll feel like you’re all alone in the world. It’s possible to walk for miles without running into another being... well almost! Can you hear that noise? Along your way, you might just run into a marmot basking in the sun between the rocks.
No need to be particularly sporty
Do you want to see Mont-Blanc but without the strenuous effort? You don’t need to hike for hours, you can choose to use the ski lifts: thanks to these lifts, you can get to the highest peaks and admire the breath-taking views over the Vallée des Belleville and the surrounding area.
There are easy walks (shown in green on the maps) available, suitable for all walkers.
