New in winter
Winter is fast approaching and the opening of the ski area is scheduled for 10 December. Whether it is on the slopes or in the activities, accommodation and restaurants, there will be changes. Let's take a look at what's new for the winter of 2022-2023.
On the slopes
A slope devoted to beginners
To make sure everyone has a comfortable experience, there is now a green slope that is reserved for absolute beginners, to ensure their safety and peace-of-mind. There are safety nets and staff members at the top of this slope to ensure access to the slope is regulated and adapted to everyone’s level of ability. This is the place to be to enjoy the slopes as a family! Take a look at the ski pass prices for beginners.Download the piste map for beginners
Ski Patrol Experience : discovering the jobs on the slopes
Children will be able to learn all about the professions of the mountains and have fun at the same time on this educational and enjoyable 3,300m2 visitor’s tour. The budding ski patrollers will have the opportunity to try out a mini snowmobile and a simulator for helicopter transportation, among other exciting experiences. They will learn about the dangers of the mountains from a passionate and talented team, and about the right behaviour to adopt on the slopes, which will seem obvious to them afterwards. An unforgettable experience!
Tuesday Apres-ski safety sessions
3 evenings on the theme of safety, in partnership with RECCO. To get a feel of what mountain rescue is really like, the ski patrol team will organise an exciting activity for you, in the great outdoors. During this 1.5-hour activity, you’ll experience an avalanche and have to search for someone who is lost and injured. You’ll be helping the rescue dogs search for the victim, then the team transport them and finally witness the helicopter carrying them away! Participants can then chat to the ski patrol team, the dog handlers, snow groomers and representatives of the safety system from the Recco brand. An opportunity to find out all about what these people do to guarantee our safety. This is a spectacular experience, to learn something new, meet the teams and see what happens behind-the-scenes!
Tuesdays 7 February, 14 March and 18 April at La Croisette, no bookings required
Team Riders for the most daring
As soon as they have been awarded their golden star, young skiers are free to take to the slopes, and even venture off-piste. With a group of friends and accompanied by an instructor, the skiing possibilities are endless. This new activity is an opportunity to see what it’s like to be one of the resort’s riders, by trying out freeriding and freestyle skiing and find out about the resort’s safety measures at the same time. An added bonus for the teens? Advice for taking the best photos and videos to post on social networks!

On the activities side
A new experience with ice diving
You may already know Lac du Lou as a hiker. But do you know Lac du Lou as a swimmer? It's hard to imagine diving into its 1°C water in the middle of winter. After putting on a neoprene wetsuit, an instructor guides you between the 4 ice holes. The connection between these holes, spaced from 6 to 20m apart, is done by apnea. Dan Arbogast, professional instructor, is the only one in France and in the world to offer this unique experience. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will be accompanied throughout this exceptional experience. And this year, you can try freediving under ice at night by torchlight, provided you have already done a daytime dive.
Restaurants and accommodation
The Higalik Hotel **** and Telemark
The "Ice House", which translates from Greenlandic as Higalik, is now a landmark at the entrance to the resort. With its 10 levels and 6,783 m2, this grandiose construction offers a holiday at the foot of the slopes. The hotel, which will open in December 2022, has 105 rooms, including 5 family suites for 6 to 7 people, which can be as large as 74m2. The decoration is pure, with real woodwork in all its forms.
For your well-being, go to the 5th floor to enjoy the Sothy's Spa and its swimming pool with a panoramic view.
As for the restaurant, go to the Telemark with its huge terrace of 143 places facing south. A traditional, regional and refined cuisine with fresh and seasonal products is offered.
"Mauricette in the Sky", a delicatessen run by a former sommelier
The Mexican Flora Sades invites you to indulge in her grocery shop offering local products, mixing the flavours of the mountains and the south of France with those of Italy. Located next to the Telemark restaurant of the Higalik Hotel ****, the grocery shop is a friendly place where you can enjoy a pastry or an aperitif after a day of skiing. The former sommelier, who has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants, will guide you in your selection of products, wines and spirits.
